Aggiornamento Firmware lettore DVD LG GDR-8162B

Ciao a tutti, dato che ho dei problemi con la lettura di alcuni DVD pensavo di aggiornare il firmware del mio (vecchio) lettore DVD, l'LG GDR-8162B, sperando di risolvere il problema...
Dato che è la prima volta che aggiorno un firmware, volevo avere alcune informazioni, prima di tutto se, nel caso fosse il firmware sbagliato, fosse possibile ripristinare quello precedente o comunque reinstallarlo sopra quello nuovo, e poi se facendo questo potrei risolvere il mio problema...
Poi non so come si fa, ma dato che il file che ho trovato è un exe, credo che basti aprirlo e seguire la procedura guidata (sperando che ci sia )...
Altri consigli e chiarimenti mi farebbero comunque piacere, se potete aiutarmi!

e nel caso che il firmware scaricato fosse sbagliato posso riscriverci sopra quello di prima?

Credo che se il firmware è quello sbagliato, non te lo installi neanche
Cmq credo che ci puoi sovrascrivere sopra se per caso è sbagliato

Ne ho scaricato uno, o meglio ho scaricato uno zip, che contiene un po' di exe, ma non ho ben capito quale devo avviare...

LG GDR-8162B RPC1 and Auto Reset Firmware

An RPC1 firmware defeats the internal counters within the drive and
removes region enforcement. This only is HALF of the equation. You
need to use DVD Genie or similar software to control your player

An Auto Reset firmware is an RPC2 firmware that returns to no region
and five remaining changes each time the drive is restarted. No
additional software is required, run out of changes, just reboot.

These firmwares have been tested. There appear to be different OEM versions.
The flashers should not allow you to flash onto a drive with a different
OEM designation. There is no longer an issue with SST flash chips, the new
flasher can handle chips from SST, MXIC and ATMEL.

Flashing these firmwares requires some risk on your part. If you are not
comfortable with this please do not proceed. We cannot guarantee they will
work or flash correctly in any environment out of our control.

The update requires Real DOS, a DOS box under Windows is not suitable.
The Windows flasher has been removed because of reported issues.

The RPC1 and Auto Reset firmware are in there own executable, pick whichever
ONE you wish to use. The executables are self contained flashers with firmware,
no additional flashing software is required.

Se ho capito bene, l'RPC1 rimuove i limiti delle regioni DVD, però per usare un DVD di un'altra regione devi scaricare un player apposito (dal link che ti han messo)
