New specialist Sega studio to develop next-gen racers
15:53 Sega is gearing up for next-gen versions of some of the company's most beloved racing titles.
A report on trade publication MCV's website reveals that the European arm of Sega is currently setting-up a dedicated 'Racing Studio' in the centre of the UK, with the new studio focusing solely on next-gen product based on existing Sega franchises.
What are the titles being bandied about? It looks like further incarnations of Sega Rally and Crazy Taxi are definitely on the cards with the company already mentioning both titles in job ads to lure potential employees to the new studio.
Sega of Europe has already proven its skills in the racing sector with the successful Xbox port of OutRun 2 by the Sheffield-based developer Sumo Digital.
Perhaps most interestingly, if Sega of Japan is farming sequels to some of its biggest franchises to Europe, what could Sega's Japanese development teams be working on?
