    grazie in anticipo:
    1- ogni volta che modifico un file mandrake mi crea una noiosa copia di backup uguale ma con un ~ alla fine del nome. Come si disabilita?
    2- quando faccio partire prog di windows sotto wine che sono file exe i font sono spesso sballati e certi parti della gui sono invisibile/scordinati. Si possono cambiare?

    1. Stai dicendo che se modifichi un'immagine ti crea una copia di backup? Non sarà invece che è il programma che usi per modificare files di testo a creare le copie di backup (molti lo fanno di default)?
    2. Forse, controlla che le sezioni [FontDirs] e [afmdirs] nel file $HOME/.wine/config indichino il maggior numero possibile di percorsi corretti.

    ecco il file config di wine. Credo che debba essere modificato, e dico molto.
    WINE REGISTRY Version 2
    ;; All keys relative to \\Machine\\Software\\Wine\\Wine\\Config

    ;; If you think it is necessary to show others your complete config for a
    ;; bug report, filter out empty lines and comments with
    ;; grep -v "^;" ~/.wine/config | grep '.'
    ;;
    ;; MS-DOS drives configuration
    ;;
    ;; Each section has the following format:
    ;; [Drive X]
    ;; "Path"="xxx" (Unix path for drive root)
    ;; "Type"="xxx" (supported types are 'floppy', 'hd', 'cdrom' and 'network')
    ;; "Label"="xxx" (drive label, at most 11 characters)
    ;; "Serial"="xxx" (serial number, 8 characters hexadecimal number)
    ;; "Filesystem"="xxx" (supported types are 'msdos'/'dos'/'fat', 'win95'/'vfat', 'unix')
    ;; This is the FS Wine is supposed to emulate on a certain
    ;; directory structure.
    ;; Recommended:
    ;; - "win95" for ext2fs, VFAT and FAT32
    ;; - "msdos" for FAT16 (ugly, upgrading to VFAT driver strongly recommended)

    Sembra che quel file di configurazione sia adattato per la Mandrake; ad una prima occhiata non cambierei molto, controlla che le cartelle nelle sezioni [FontDirs] e [afmdirs] che non sono in righe precedute da ";" contengano rispettivamente files .ttf e .afm .
    Se hai importato i fonts da Windows (cosa che ti consiglio di fare con l'apposita utility, drakfont, accessibile dal centro di controllo di Mandrake), controlla siano nella cartella /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/drakfont/ttf , se ci sono puoi togliere il ";" dall'inizio della riga ;"dir3" = "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/drakfont/ttf" .
    Se qualcuna di quelle cartelle non contiene i files previsti, aggiungi un ";" ad inizio riga, ed alla fine controlla che i vari dir1, dir2, dir3, dirN non preceduti da ";" siano ordinati e senza salti (per esempio se metti il ";" davanti un dir2 , mentre il dir3 e dir4 vanno bene, falli scalare di uno, in modo da avere dir1, dir2 e dir3, è più facile da fare che da spiegare ).
