Ma nell'era della Peak TV ha ancora un senso assegnare degli Awards quando lo spettatore medio conosce soltanto a metà la metà delle serie TV in onda e nutre per meno della metà di esse la metà dell'affetto che meritano?

A quanto pare si'.
Specialmente nell'anno in cui sicuramente non vincerà Game of Thrones!

Domani (Giovedì 13 Luglio) alle 17.30 ore italiane la cerimonia con l'annuncio delle nominations principali, presentata da Anna Chlumsky e Shemar Moore.
Poco dopo sul portale online degli Academy Awards sarà disponibile il super listone completo con tutte le nominations più oscure (tipo miglior parrucchino biondo a pelo corto).

Domenica 17 Settembre (che per noi sarà Lunedì 18 Settembre) alle 2 di notte ore italiane, la cerimonia con la consegna dei premi, presentata da Stephen Colbert.

Considera che la stagione di OITNB eleggibile per questi Emmy era la quarta, non la quinta.
Però sono d'accordo lo stesso.
Tra l'altro hanno nominato Samira Wiley per The Handmaid's Tale, quando secondo me andava nominata per OITNB.

La S4 ne ha prese due, l'anno scorso la S3 ne aveva presa una.

L'anno migliore per OITNB agli Emmy è stata la S1 quando avevano 12 nominations e ne vinsero 3, però all'epoca erano riusciti ad essere elegible in Comedy. Poi dalla S2 sono stati costretti a passare Drama e sono diventate 4 (però con Best Drama) e poi appunto 1 l'anno scorso (Casting) e 2 quest'anno con Aduba e Cox.

Ma Game of Thrones è tipo 7 od 8 volte più famoso e visto di Westworld, non è così facile l'equazione.
HBO power non può essere definito un fattore, quando HBO ha vinto Best Drama solo con 2 serie, e Game of Thrones è una di queste.

Col nuovo (vomitevole) sistema di voting ormai le categorie principali sono una gara a chi ha più spinta dall'intero corpo dell'Academy, a giudicare dalle nominations (come sono distribuite) vedo molto bene Stranger Things e The Handmaid's Tale per il premio più ambito.

Ammetto di essere fra la metà delle persone che conoscono la metà delle serie, ma penso sia una cosa stupefacente.
A parte Eva Green che è mostruosamente brava, ma anche gli altri non sono da meno! L'attore che impersona la Creatura è al pari di Eva, secondo me.
