Aggiornamento Primaverile del 7 Maggio

Redmond , Washington —Your Xbox LIVE® friends list is about to get a whole lot bigger. Microsoft Corp. today announced the launch of Windows LIVE™ Messenger on Xbox 360™, connecting friends across Xbox 360 consoles, Microsoft® Windows®-based PCs and Windows Mobile®-powered devices.

New Features

• Integrazione totale di tutti gli utenti Windows, Windows Mobile con quelli di Xbox 360. In questo modo la community di persone che potranno chattare tra loro attraverso i vari dispositivi (PC, Pda, Xbox 360) raggiunge la sbalorditiva cifra di 260 milioni in tutto il mondo. Oltre al nuovo Joypad con minitastiera QWERTY integrata sulla Xbox 360 si potrà utilizzare qualsiasi tastiera dotata di collegamento USB.
• Maggiore chiarezza circa gli obiettivi raggiunti durante il gioco. Il pop-up che ci avvisa dell'obiettivo appena sbloccato ci fornirà più informazioni tra cui il nome dell'obiettivo e i punti appena guadagnati.
• Nella Dasboard non apparirà solo l'icona "gioca" ma la dicitura indicherà anche il gioco inserito in quel momento all'interno della consolle , ad esempio "Gioca a Gears of War"
• Si potranno scaricare contenuti con la consolle in stand-by ed eventualmente decidere l'auto spegnimento al termine del download (ottimo per chi scarica nelle ore notturne)
• Il Marketplace Xbox Live subirà una riorganizzazione per migliorare la gestione dei propri Live Arcade e il sistema di ricerca di nuovi contenuti.
• Rilascio il 7 maggio
• Aggiunta di contatti Windows Live Messenger alla Lista Amici (fino a 600)
• Chat testuale fino a 6 contatti Live Messenger alla volta durante giochi o film
• Blade indipendente per il Marketplace
• Navigazione nel Marketplace facilitata
• I pop-up "Risultato sbloccato" mostreranno il numero di punti guadagnati ed il nome dell'Obiettivo conseguito
• Modalità a basso consumo durante i download (spegnimento delle ventole), e auto-spegnimento al termine dei download in coda
• Visualizzazione dei file video scaricati parzialmente

• Il nome del gioco inserito nel vano dischi è ora visualizzato sulla dashboard
• When the user is in the dashboard and an Xbox 360 game is in the console then the name of the game is displayed in the tray icon of the dashboard. If the user highlights the tray icon then achievements and gamer score are displayed for that game based on the signed in user. Xbox1 games show the name and image of the game.
• Integrato il supporto del nuovo dispositivo di testo per Xbox 360. Questo dispositivo include una nuovo headset.
• Playback progress bar indicates download completion.
• Switchable aspect ratio now available during video playback (Auto to Letterbox, Zoom, Stretch, Native).
• Player and friends lists now quickly show session presence information for quick identification of users that are joinable.
• Added H.264 video support: Up to 10 Mbps peak, Baseline, Main, and High profiles with 2 channel AAC LC.
• Added MPEG-4 Part 2 video support: Up to 5 Mbps peak, Simple Profile with 2 channel AAC LC.
• Show folder hierarchy for video content played from all devices.
• Bookmarks are stored for each video that the user plays remembering the users last location in the file as well as the aspect ratio that the user choose for that file.
• Video trick modes (fast forward, rewind, chapter skip) can now be used while downloading Video Marketplace content.
• Skip forward and backward functionality has been improved to skip to the next or previous chapter. Each video is divided into 10 “chapters” allowing you to quickly skip around video content.
• The information bar that is turned on via the On Screen Display (OSD) now shows you exactly where you are in the playback of the video file. In addition it will also show for Video Marketplace content how much of the file has been downloaded and where the “chapters” exist in the file.
• Windows Media protected content (WM-DRM) can now be streamed from the PC to the console. If the WM-DRM license is missing or corrupted then a specific error message is displayed to the user. Bookmarking is also stored for protected content.
• When a user selects an item for download from Marketplace then the system will determine if there is sufficient disk space for the item and, if not, will ask the user to delete content on the HDD. The system provides a sorted by size list of videos, game trailers, demos and arcade content to aid the user in the deletion process. The same list of items are also available from within memory so that users can quickly see which items are consuming the most disk space.
• The console will block the user who attempts to download content onto a storage device that will never have the capacity to store the item without deducting any points associated with the content item.

[AGGIORNAMENTO]
Con il prossimo dashboard update verrano implementati nella Xbox 360 anche i codec video H.264 Level 4.1 (utilizzato soprattutto per l'alta definizione a 1080p grazie al grande flusso dati disponibile, 15 Mbs) e MPEG-4 rendendo possibile la riproduzione di filmati encodati in questi formati ovviamente da tutte le fonti (Dvd, chiavette USB, via rete). Decisamente un notevole passo avanti quindi visto che sino ad ora erano riproducibili solamente video in MPEG-2 e WMV (il formato proprietario Microsoft). Purtroppo restano non supportati i formati Divx e Xvid, in particolare quest'ultimo è un MPEG-4 Part 2 Advanced Simple Profile mentre la 360 supporterà il solo Simple Profile su MPEG-4.

I just heard from the Dashboard team that we'll have to wait at least another day for the Dashboard update to be released. The update is not being released in the next 24-hours. That is all I know at this time, but I’ll get more information tomorrow afternoon (PT) and I will update this post as needed. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Edit: As has been pointed out by some community members, the official press release does say the ‘week of May 7th’ for a release time. So we’re well within that so far. It sounds like some folks missed that part, so that’s why I wanted to post this update.

Sinceramente non so se č una benedizione o una maledizione l'aggiornamento che deve uscire, il motivo? si mormora che possano disattivare l'account stranieri e sinceramente se succedesse una cosa del genere microsoft sarebbe proprio una bastarda, se lei avesse implementato le stesse cose che ci sono nel marketplace americano non ci sarebbero stati tutti sti account extra-territoriali
