40GB PS3's failure rate at 83% ?
Unexpected and most of all, truly dramatic. These two adjectives perfectly describe Sony's situation today. ELSPA sources near Sony, have reported that 40GB PS3 models would have a failure of 83%. The reson of such high percentage would be connected to the low quality hardware materials used in the construction of the new, economic, PS3 models. Sony has yet to confirm the news leak, however it seems that the company's intention would be of replacing all the 40GB models with 80GB models, witout any sort of money investment by consumers. The 40GB PS3 would be then removed completely from market, leaving only the retrocompatible 80GB models sold at the same price set on the 40GB models today. If this situation should be officialy confirmed, Sony would have to face a terrible repercussion that could possibibly put an end to the console war. All we can do at the moment is wait and see. Stay tuned.
