Link News 1Walmart is taking pre-orders for a box set of popular Playstation 2 action games ICO and Shadow of the Colossus for the Playstation 3 for just under $40. While Sony has yet to announce such a bundle, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida told IGN back in June that they are "looking to continue to do these HD conversions" following in the footsteps of God of War and Sly collections for the PS3.
In the case of those games, the classic PS2 titles featured updated high definition graphics.
We've reached out to Sony for comment and will update if and when we hear something on this.
ICO / Shadow of the Colossus (PS3) [Walmart, thanks to everyone for the gazillion tips]
Link News 2Walmart sure is on a roll. After outing a “possible” sequel to MAG, today it’s listing the long rumored ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Blu-ray collection for PS3.
In fact, it’s even taking pre-orders.
According to the pre-order page, the collection will run you $39.82, which is not bad for a Blu-ray disc with two well-loved games on it.
Sony has yet to announce the collection, but worldwide bossman Shuhei Yoshida told Joystiq at E3 the company was “very aware” for such a collection, and plans to release more HD collections after the God of War and Sly offerings.
VG247 was told back in May, in a very shady way we might add, the collection was indeed coming and TSA was told it would arrive during Q1 2011. Amazon France even posted the collection up back in June, citing a June 2011 release.
Walmart has it down for April 1, fittingly enough.
We’ll mail Sony about this, but remember, it’s Saturday, so we’ll likely not get a response until Monday.
In the meantime, keep dreaming the dream.

Link News 3Once again, Walmart has added a product listing for a heretofore unannounced (but heavily rumored) PS3 title: A bundle including (presumably visually updated versions of) ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. The mega-retailer included an April 1, 2011 release date for the game -- hopefully not an indication of an outrageously early April Fools' Day joke -- and a bargain-level price tag of $39.82.
We've contacted representatives at Sony and Walmart (again) to try to get a comment on the listing, and will let you know when we hear more.
