Gia fatto 3 volte... nessun problema sul cd ( l'ho masterizzato a 4x... non mi pare sia troppo elevata come velocità).


Firefox lanciato da terminale mi da questo:

Cioè per risolvere il problema dovrei avviare firefox o il server x con questa linea di comando? Chiedo troppo se vi chiedo di dirmi come si fa?

beh, basta avviare firefox con firefox --sync

è lo stesso, cambia solo il numero seriale: prima diceva 1469 mentre ora è 3046.

sono sempre più confuso...

Mi dispiace, non so aiutarti a risolvere il problema, posso solo dirti che io ho Gentoo sul mio portatile con inittab settato per l'avvio testuale. Quando faccio startx qualche volta da anche a me lo stesso errore e riavviando X scompare. Cercando un po' su google ho trovato che questo errore dipende da un errato caricamento di qualche modulo di X, e non è solo uno, ce ne sono di diversi. 8(
Spero di esserti stato un po' utile almeno ad identificare il problema!

Ragazzi, sono riuscito a risolvere il problema!
In pratica ciò che creava conflitto era il pacchetto synaptic chiamato "GTK2-engines-ubuntulooks" , l'ho disinstallato ed ora firefox parte senza problemi.
Anzi no, un problema mi è rimasto, ma è quasi irrilevante vista la mia contentezza per essere riuscito a risolvere il problema principale
Eliminando quel pacchetto, se vado su: Sistema/Preferenze/aspetto, alla voce Temi me ne da uno solo molto scarno e se provo a fare Personalizza nella scheda Colori mi dice: "il tema corrente per i controlli non supporta gli schemi di colore".
La domanda è: esiste un pacchetto alternativo ad ubuntulooks, visto che se lo reinstallo me rifà lo stesso problema con firefox?

Poi volevo fare un' altra domanda approfittando della vostra pazienza e competenza:
Ho scaricato kompozer ma non lo riesco a patchare in italiano; mi dice che la patch verrà aggiunta al riavvio del programma, ma quando lo riapro è sempre in inglese

per Kompozer... ma non lo installi già in italiano da synaptic?

Ce ne sono diversi, cerca su Synaptic. Ad esempio c'è gtk2-engines-murrine.
