According to an Xbox fan website (the same one that is sure MS are developing a 360 motion sensing controller), a Konami rep has stated straight up that MGS 4 is already in production for the Xbox 360 and will hit the shelves 12 to 14 months after the PS3 version is released. After hearing this, they contacted the MS PR team and got a wordy response back instead of the usual 'we don't respond to rumors', so they think they have some kind of further weighting behind their 'confirmation' from Konami.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is coming to the Xbox 360. This is not a rumor. This is straight from a Konami distribution representative’s mouth. The game is already in production and has been since early 2007. Complete details after the jump:

No, the rep will not be named, but this is pretty concrete. Speaking to a Konami rep at an undisclosed distribution meeting, I was told, after a lot of nagging, that yes indeed MGS was in development for the 360. The rep stated that Metal Gear Solid will be released for the Xbox 360 between 12 to 14 months after the PS3 version hits shelves. This is not a rumor.

I contacted Microsoft’s own John Porcaro via email shortly after I spoke to the Konami rep to see if I could get anything from Microsoft’s public relations team. Below is the response I received. Needless to say it’s the most I’ve ever gotten out of MS PR team member.

Farò la figura del fanboy, ma di MGS4 sinceramente non frega nulla . Ho avuto per anni la PS2 e non ho mai giocato ad alcun capitolo della saga, quindi non comincerei in ogni caso ora. Piuttosto invidio alla Sony la serie di God of War

Nah, macchè fanboy, sono gusti.
Io, per esempio, non invidio god of war, che ha un sistema di combattimento poco profondo, ma ha una trama carina e un'ottima grafica.
