Rob Adams was formerly employed at Naughty Dog Studios for more than 7 years, playing not only a major part in the Jak & Daxter series (including the mediocre Jak X: Combat Racing for the PS2) but also in Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune for the Playstation 3. Now he’ll play a role in a game whose beta alone Microsoft claims will sell the upcoming Halo ODST.
Adams has been workin on Halo: Reach as the Senior Environment Artist at Bungie for more than a year, “building environments” and “helping develop tools, pipeline, and production methods”.
Working on Uncharted as the Lead Environment Artist, he also functioned in these areas: “Modeler, Textures, Level Design & Layout, Scheduling [and] Reviews”.
Adams has three set “specialties” of his when it comes to 3D environments: Making sure “they’re fun to play through multiple times”, “look cool and original (mostly original)” and which “squeeze every last drop of performance from the hardware”. He’s worked on more than 10 commercially and critically successful games in his career, which also include the classics Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed and High Stakes. We look forward to seeing what kind of unique and gorgeously realistic environments Adams can create for Bungie’s next, due in 2010 for the Xbox 360.
