    Driver video open suse 11.3

    ho la risolunzione dello schermo a 1366*768 e il refresh a 50 Hz,mentre dovrebbe essere 1440*900 e 60hz di refresh,ma i driver mi sembra siano gli ultimi NVIDIA 256.53
    (ho una 9600 GT per portatili),ci sono reposity nn ufficiali per aggiornare i driver?una guida per farlo?

    ma da nvidia-settings non riesci a cambiarlo?
    prova a rinominare il file xog.conf in oxrg.conf.old e riavviare senza xorg.conf e vediamo se da solo lo setta in modo adeguato

    Dalle impostazioni dello schermo ho visto che la risoluzione max arriva a 1366*768,nvidia setting manco l'ho visto

    nella cartella etc/X11/ trovo solo
    Xmodmap Xmodmap.remote xorg.conf.install Xresources
    devo modificare xorg.conf.install in xorg.conf.old?

    lancia nvidia-setting da amministratore, prova a cliccare su detect monitor e poi prova a vedere se riesci a cambiare risoluzione, anche se non riesci prova a creare e salvare un file xorg.conf con nvidia-settings poi lo editi e cambi la risoluzione, riavvi e vedi se riesci ad avere la risoluzione che desideravi. se anche così non da risultato, con un xorg.conf nuovo con la tua risoluzione impostata, allora posta il contenuto del file /var/log/Xorg.0.log e vediamo se ci sono particolari errori

    ho fatto come hai detto ma nel file che ho creato con nvidia settings nn c'è la possibilità di modificare la risoluzione

    ho fatto come hai detto(ho dovuto fare tutto da terminale dato che ci volevano privilegi per agire sulle sottocartelle della radice),creando il file xorg.conf da nvidia setings e mettendoci all'interno

    ma in primis la risoluzione 1449x900 non mi pare esista al massimo 1440x900
    seconda cosa forse puoi togliere tutti i riferimenti a tastiera e mouse che se ne occupa udev, se hai xorg 1.8 ma questo è un'altro discorso.
    altra cosa da terminale prova a dare il comando xrandr

    risolto,ho installato un'altro nvidia-settings da yast e li c'è il campo della risoluzione dove la posso inserire manualmente

    Sinceramente openSUSE 11.3 mi ha deluso parecchio da questo punto di vista, addirittura ero rimasto alla 11.2 perchè non riuscivo a regolare il monitor, poi ho pensato di copiare l'Xorg.conf dalla 11.2 e rimetterlo in una installazione nuova di zecca della 11.3 ... PERFETTO!
    Un applauso a quell'idiota che ha deciso di rimuovere sax2 ...
