Sony Announces Wanda and the Giant
Is this the successor to Ico?
---------------------------------------------------
Sony Computer Entertainment has unveiled Wanda to Kyozou, one of the two "awesome" games it had promised to unveil on the 10th. The title translates to Wanda and the Giant, or Wanda and Colossus.
The company has revealed little about the game. The single official image of the title depicts a horse and his rider with a giant beast in the background. Presumably, the rider is Wanda and the beast is the colossus of the title. Or, perhaps, the horse is Wanda.
In addition to this image, the company has made mention of a teaser phrase for the game: "We battle in order to meet you again."
Judging by the general atmosphere in the single image, and the hints SCE has been giving over the past few days, there's strong speculation that this could be the successor to Ico that gamers (well, smart ones anyway) worldwide have been demanding. That successor has been codenamed "Nico" until now, which is a Japanese pun on Ico and the word for two.
Incidentally, the platform for the game hasn't been revealed, so it could either be PSP or PS2.
Sony Computer Entertainment will reveal more on the game at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, scheduled to kick off on 9/24. Stay tuned for more as you analyze the single picture by expanding the image to the right.
