secondo me è difficile stabilrlo con precisione. si è trattato di una progressione iniziata da quasi tutti i gruppi che avete citato, in più io ci aggiungerei i blue oyster cult (molti rimandi all'occulto che poi diventarono una caratteristica di alcune band metal). Quindi è difficile dire chi ha inventato il metal.

ps. a livello di curiosità io citerei come prime canzoni che hanno dato il là alla rivoluzione i due pezzi proto hard rock You really got me dei Kinks e Helter Skelter dei Beatles. E perchè non citare anche i Queen con Stone cold crazy

Insomma, come "sunto", i gruppi hardrock degli anni sessanta hanno posto le basi, e gruppi come Judas Priest e Maiden hanno "definito meglio" il genere.

completamente d'accordo. secondo me su alcuni gruppi di transizione ci potrebbe essere difficoltà a stabilire se sono ancora hard rock o metal
