La serie Netflix basata sull’universo narrativo dello strigo, The Witcher, è oramai sugli schermi di tutti gli abbonati al service streaming. Per chi di voi non l’avesse ancora vista consigliamo caldamente di vederla passando prima per la nostra recensione.
La showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich ha voluto riflettere il suo amore per i romanzi nello show televisivo, come ha specificato negli ultimi tweet, e dalla gioia ricevuta nel vedere i libri di Andrzej Sapkowski ricevere i loghi adottati dalla serie.

Al col tempo però su Twitter molti fan esprimono il loro dispiacere per alcune scelte narrative e per alcuni tagli effettuati mettendo in cantiere la prima stagione. Una critica in particolar modo è stata presa in considerazione da Hissirich.

As writers, we understand that — even when given rationale — fans may not agree with the changes we made. And that's fine! We had to make hard choices, and we didn't get them right every time. But it's important to me that fans know those choices weren't made lightly. Ever. ❤️

Le critiche mosse contro Hissrich riguardano per lo più la scelta di introdurre Ciri sin dall’inizio togliendo la sorpresa che sarebbe poi arrivata più in là nella storia stando alla consecutio dei libri. Le motivazioni della showrunner sono state quelle di dare alla principessa di Cintra il grande ruolo che le compete sin dall’inizio della narrazione, adattando una storia che si sbroglia in due raccolte di racconti e cinque romanzi (sei, considerando il recente La Stagione delle Tempeste, che si colloca come collante tra le raccolte e i romanzi).
Ad ogni modo aspettiamo aggiornamenti e speriamo che, alla luce delle critiche ben accettate da Lauren S. Hissirch, la prossima stagione possa esserne giovata. Anzi, le prossime due stagioni, dato che è stata ufficializzata la terza.
